Airport terminals are very fast developing and changing depending on the technology. In this study, first of all, basic problems in engineering and architectural disciplines are evaluated in terms of airport terminals that have important functions in the built environment. It is obvious that the periodical development processes of these constructions are in parallel with the development of these two disciplines in terms of architecture and engineering ethics. Engineering problems in architecture; openness, console, function and density, architectural form, technical details and horizontal loads. Architectural criteria in airport structures are; transparency-lightness, flexibility-shaping, ecology, sustainability, energy efficiency, nanotechnology and biomimesis. As a result; the recent large-scale airport terminal buildings have all characteristics in terms of architectural and engineering concept criteria.
