Abstract

Cave walls were used as a space in depicting the unique structure of human anatomy in the form of murals. In these murals, where the first anatomical drawings were made, mechanical structure of human body started to be solved and questioned. The science of anatomy emerged in light of the cadaver works that aim to solve the mechanics of human body and the technical and artistic drawings that support these attempts. Anatomy has been a part of the most fundamental structure of arts as much as the science of medicine. Discovery of X rays have rendered the internal structure of mysterious human body that arouses curiosity more visible. The science of anatomy has also taken more accurate and progressive steps in the body’s journey following this discovery. One of the most important developments of the science of medicine, discovery of x rays, has enabled usage of roentgen monitoring method in treatment and diagnosis of many diseases. In addition to being a commonly-used technique in the field of medicine, it is also a means used by artists to diversify and strengthen their artistic narrations. Photography, painting, and graffiti can be listed among these art applications. In this study to be conducted, we will handle a graffiti artist with the nick name Shok-1, who uses anatomical drawings, which is the common language of arts and medicine disciplines, uses effects of roentgen, which is the monitoring method of x ray, and uses city walls as the space of artistic drawings. We will dwell on the different opportunities that medical monitoring techniques can create in artistic art applications while studying the works of the artist who works on walls with unique paint usage and technique.
