Each university aims to increase its academic performance and become one of the best universities. With this aim, Universities will contribute to the increase of scientific productivity by using some strategies that will affect their academic performance. Efficiency analysis is a method of performance evaluation to determine how efficiently and productively the systems use their resources to their goals. In this study, the efficiency levels of major Turkish universities listed in Top 500 world rankings like Bosphorus University, Ihsan Dogramaci Bilkent University, Istanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University and University of Istanbul are analyzed. The study is very important in terms of determining the contribution of these Turkish universities to the country and analyzing the academic competition between them in a quantitative way.
