@article{2017,title={WHAT IS "TURKU"?},abstractNode={In the “Introduction” section of the study was pointed out how the phenomenon of “Türkü” is perceived by Turkish people, and in the works on “Türkü” the lyrics and the melody aren’t addressed together. Also was explained that the “Türkü” serves as the memory of Turkish people since one can find everything in “Türküs” including historical depth, traditions and social events, public architecture, public medicine, the knowledge of fauna and flora, religious knowledge and all about livelihood. Additionally, the aim, question and the method of the research were also expressed in the Introduction section. In the first part it was mentioned that the word “Türkü” may have the meaning of “Türk Küyü” (Turkish Melody) along with the widely known meaning of “Belonging to Turk”, and the arguments of the researchers on the subject were introduced. On the Second Section of the study the subject “The Türkü in Terms of Lyrics” was examined under the titles of “Lyrics and Melody”, “The Element of Lyrics in the Türküs”. On the Third Section, the subject “The Türkü in Terms of Melody” was discussed based on the researchers’ opinions. On the Conclusion Section, it was argued that human being inherently was equipped with the talent for the music and with this talent initially imitated the sounds in nature, then made productions with the musical value. In this section also was emphasized on the source of Turkish music, whether lyrics or the music there was first, and mentioning that Turkish music being a music of the civilization, the “Türkü” is the basic element of this abundance. Lastly, the state of lyrics and melody in “Türkü” was conveyed which is the subject matter of this study.},author={Türker EROĞLU},year={2017},journal={Kesit Akademi}}
