Abstract

Şer'iyye recordings are among the primary sources for revealing the administrative, political, military, judicial, socio-economic and cultural structure of the Ottoman State. In addition to the legal disputes, these documents held in the sheriff's courts are also subject to a variety of legal issues such as ferman, berat, orders and provisions sent to the headquarters, preparations related to the needs of the army of the army, buying and selling incidents, guardianship, proxy appointment, donation, pledge, records on foundations, and a wide range of information on socio-economic, cultural, administrative and political structures such as food and goods prices. From this point of view, shari'a regeneration is important in terms of explaining the social, political and economic histories of societies and nations.
