The purpose of the study is to determine the factors causing the occurrence of alienation phenomenon within the context of the film, which focuses on the relationship between an operating system having an artificial intelligence and human. Events and circumstances associated with alienation phenomenon are examined, and how the metropolis life and rapid change experienced in communication technologies affected human relations was tried to be explained in the study that was made with qualitative method. Different dimensions of alienation concerning communication problems are discussed over the use of digital technology, man-woman relationships and institution of marriage in the movie. This study demonstrates that for a person to be depended on computer technology in order to meet his/her communication need, and to deliver his/her all-mental production and activity causes alienation. Since social gender roles identifying woman-man relations and the institution of marriage obligates human to comply with certain behavioral patterns, they cause alienation. Metropolis life also alienates human since it obligates human to live away from nature and among a crowd of people, who are stranger to him/her.
