In the retail sector, where competition is intense and profit margins are low, as in every sector, the buying activity is very important in terms of companies. While customers formerly bought their needs from different points, they are now in the desire to get all their needs from the same spot. For this reason, it is very important for the companies in the retail sector to establish a purchasing mechanism that can meet all the needs and desires of the customers. In this study, risks encountered in procurement activities in a large-scale firm operating in the retail sector were analyzed using the 5 * 5 L type matrix method. Risks arising from purchasing activities are categorized according to their score totals.
