Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve high school students’ images via simulation based chemistry teaching. This qualitative research was conducted on 20, ninth grade students in a high school in Ankara district in the educational year of 2012-2013 throughout seven lessons. Five chemical concepts were determined on the basis of the ninth grade chemistry teaching program’s targets. For improving determined concepts’ images, five simulations were used. Worksheets and questionnaires were used as data sources and content analysis was used for the gathered data. At the end of the research it was found that students’ images were improved via simulation based chemistry teaching.
