Abstract

The process starting from the historical development of Total Quality Management to Deming has been tried to be studied with this study. The study has attempted to reach a conclusion by examining whether total quality management is necessary or not for the developing world conditions. In this context, Edwards' efforts and pioneers in the field of Total Quality Management have been examined and the literature has been sought after. In the introductory part of the study, the concept of management was examined and tried to find answers to the questions by looking at its importance, its history and its status before it became a scientific study. Total Quality Management was defined in the second part of the study and the subject was discussed. In order to reach Deming, the necessity of correct reading of this process, the question of how a newly emerging view has rendered the old view invalid. In the third part, Deming's contribution to the literature on total quality management is explained. 14 principles and the PBUH circle were examined. In the conclusion part of the study, the situation of Total Quality Management together with the contributions of Edwards was evaluated together with our personal opinions; it is emphasized how important it is in today's conditions.
