While the dictionary stands out a different direction of Mehmet Celâl's literary personality, it is also important in terms of Turkish lexicography. Sevda Lügati is a thematic dictionary with pictures and it also carries the character of ‘antidictionary’. It is a dictionary in which the concepts belong to the conceptual field of 'love' and the concepts which find new meanings in the context of ‘love’ exist. In the dictionary there are 260 words in the context of ‘love’. Each word is exemplified either by Mehmet Celâl’s own poems or by poems which belong to Turkish poets, especially poets of divan literature. Therefore, Sevda Lügati also gives plenty of material for researches about Turkish literature, poetry and cultural history. In this context, in our study, Sevda Lügati is evaluated according to the characteristics it carries.
