Abstract

It is known that the region being segregated from Ottoman Empire and accepted the French mandate after the I. World War is Syria- Palestine region. Some diplomatic documents were signed with France about Syria during the Independence and Republic periods. Despite of these, there were seen some political events, smuggling and plant and animal diseases along the Syria border and these problems affected the plant and animal life in Turkey. After the independence of Hatay, Syria refused to obey the international agreements. Such a case caused some problems between two countries. The international relationship experts and political scientists carried on many studies on the political issues arosen between two countries. In this study, the economical and social problems experienced were investigated based on the Turkish Assembly newspaper and offered to the literature.
