Abstract

Two workplace practical training is situated for students in vocational schools for graduation requirements. It is important to knowing perspectives of students who have successfully completed their workplace practical training, for these processes. The aim of this study is to assessment of the opinions of students for the workplace practical training. So, workplace practical training perspectives and gained experience will be determined by views of students. The study was conducted with qualitative data collection techniques. Case study design was used in this study. A state university vocational school students has been included in the study in Istanbul. These participants were successfully complete their workplace practical training in 2015 and 2016 summers period. Views of students for workplace practical training were collected on the internet in process of data collection for study via structured form. The data were interpreted through a content analysis. According to the findings, almost all of students have completed their workplace practical training in city where they educated. It is seen that these students performed their workplace practical training in different areas which is not directly related with their education area. Furthermore, gained experience for interns in workplace practical training is seen very important. In this way, they have the opportunities to practice their technical and theoretical knowledge. Therefore, it is understood that student interns care about workplace practical training. Moreover, processes of practical workplace training of interns should continuously following. Lastly, more options for workplace practical training should be presented to students by increasing cooperation with sector.
