Abstract

Local meals which produce Turkish Cuisine - one of the richest cuisines of world - are important for food and beverage businesses to sustain their activities and to be marketed. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the local cuisine of Karaman province which is attracting attention with fertile lands and rich culinary culture, is used as a marketing tool by businesses. Study is important for businesses to determine the point of view of local food culture and whether they are aware of the rich food culture of Karaman and to draw attention to the importance of local food and to determine whether local foods are among the marketing strategies of these enterprises. The survey in accordance with the aim of study was practiced to businesses in city center. In the direction of data obtained in study, it is resulted that most of businesses don’t provide local meals in their menus and businesses, who service local meals, don’t use these meals as marketing tool.
