Abstract
Abdurrahman Şeref XIX. yüzyıl sonu XX. Yüzyıl başlarında yaşamış, tarihçi, ilim adamı, devlet adamı ve son vakanüvis olarak bilinir. Çeşitli okullarda öğretmenlik ve idarecilik dışında eğitim bakanı olarak da görev yapmıştır. İkinci mecliste milletvekili olmuştur. II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi’nde tarih ilmine katkı sağlamak üzere Tarih-i Osmani Encümeni’ni kurmuş, burada tarih alanında çeşitli makale ve eserlerin yayınlanmasına yönelik çalışmalar yapmıştır. Abdurrahman Şeref Bey’in tarihçi yönü ve tarihe hizmetleri ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra coğrafya alnında da çeşitli eserler vücuda getirmiştir. Bu çalışmada Abdurrahman Şeref Bey’in yazmış olduğu Coğrafya-yı Umumi adlı kitabı incelenecek ve değerlendirilecektir. Bu eser 1323(1907) yılında yayınlanmıştır. Böylece yazarın coğrafyacı kimliği üzerinde durulacaktır.

Abstract
Abdurrahman Şeref lived in the 19th century and saw the first quarter of the 20th century. He is known as historian, scholar, statesman and as a last chronicler. He served as a teacher and administrator. However he served as minister of education. He has become deputy in the second parliamentary. He established “History of Ottoman Commission” to contribute to the science of history in II. Second Constitutional Era. II. History-i Osmani Encümeni established to contribute to the knowledge of History Second Constitutional Monarchy, here has been instrumental in the publication of several articles in the field of history and monuments. Abdurrahman Şeref Bey historian direction and date services come to the fore. As well as the geography of the forehead has a variety of works. In this study ıt will be studied and evaluated book which was written by Abdurrahman Seref Bey is “General Geography”. This book is written and published in 1323 (1907).
