Abstract

Individual motivation is an important element for effective learning and teaching. Today, a variety of instructional technologies are used to increase students' motivation for the lesson in classroom environment. Intelligent boards, one of the newest technologies, recently it is used as a new teaching technology, particularly at the primary and secondary schools. The aim of this research is to determine the students’ views on the effect of using intelligent board on student motivation in science lessons. The study was carried out with 36 students at the 11th grade level of secondary education in Erzincan province center in the academic year of 2016-2017.The survey model was used in the study. A 5-point Likert-type questionnaire was used to determine students opinions on motivation. The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient calculated for the questionnaire is ? = .82. Qualitative interpretation of the intervals is provided by using the interval calculation system for the mean value. As a result, it became increased that the use of intelligent board in middle school science classes had moderate effect on student motivation.
