Abstract

The purpose of the current study is to develop sample activities on the basis of the multiple-intelligence theory to impart the value of responsibility that is one of the objectives of the 4th grade social studies course to students more easily. For this purpose, 8 activities were designed, the dominant intelligences in these activities were determined and how the value to be imparted through these activities would be inculcated in students was explained in detail. These activities were submitted to the scrutiny of an expert. Moreover, the opinions of the seven 4th grade teachers teaching this course were sought about the applicability of the activities, their suitability for the level of the students and their compliance with the target value and intelligence domain and necessary changes were made in line with their feedbacks. The activities used in the current study are believed to contribute to the inculcation of the value of responsibility by fourth grade social studies teachers and to offer guidance for the design of new activities.
