Kemal Sunal and character “Saban” is one of the most remembered names as an important character among Turkish comedy films. Films with character Saban have been still gaining popularity though long years have passed. One of the another efficient factor that Kemal Sunal’s genuine and grassroots character have succeeded is transformation of the character expressed as peripetie effect. In this study, how peripetie effect has an impact on Kemal Sunal’s films in terms of genre and qualitative aspects and basic reasons of keeping viewers’ attention strong are analyzed.
