The most distinctive feature of the lifestyle of nomadic groups in the Ottoman State was seasonal journey with their animals. By this way of life, the nomads would be separated from the inhabitants. The purpose of the migration was to graze the animals. For this reason, they would migrated between the places called the yaylak-kişlak. The migration between these two places was different in terms of geography. This migration in Karaman Province’s geography sometimes took place in four stages. These stages were called yazlak-güzlek as interregnum periods and yaylak-kişlak as main periods. These yaylak and kişlak places were usually registered as a country to Karaman nomadics. Therefore, it had to be avoided the conflicts among nomads about the yaylak and kişlak places. Some of the migrants in this region adopted a nomadism closer to a permanent settlement.
