Abstract

SPIRITUAL PORTRAIT OF URFI-I SHRAZI WITH REFERENCE TO COMMENTARY OF YANYALI SULEYMAN EFENDI Abstract As one of the pioneers of Hindi Style XV. century poet Urfi-i Shirazi (m. 1555-m. 1591) created significant influence especially in Afghanistan and Anatolia literary field. As a result of this influence, many commentaries were written about Urfi's poems. These commentaries show that the poems of Urfi were read and read in Anatolia. On the other hand, Urfi is an accepted as a master poet who influenced the style of many Diwan poets. The stylistic characteristics of poets and the subjects they choose are directly related to their psychology and lives. Because poems are reflections of the soul. In addition, Hindi Style is a special style that allows poets to express all kinds of feelings, thoughts and features about their inner worlds within the framework of different and unusual imaginations. In this respect, the ups and downs in Urfi's inner world, sadness, anger, resentment, enthusiasm, hopelessness, faith, disbelief, etc. it is possible to see the psychological structure and changes clearly in his poems. Commentary texts are also very important in terms of understanding the poet's world and enlightening the hidden emotion-thought world. In this study, it is tried to determine the poetic style and the mood of Urfi by giving examples from couplets based on the interpretations in the commentary text named “Serh-i Diwan-ı Urfi” which was written by Yanyali Suleyman Efendi.
