Abstract

In today's world where importance of communication skills is increased and the borders between countries have almost disappeared through much faster growing technology than in past years, verbal comprehension and expression skills are among the priority values in foreign language learning and teaching. Despite the numerous foreign language courses lasting for years in the public school, learners have often difficulty in expressing themselves, they fail to provide functionality to language. Ministry of Education makes constantly a quantitative and qualitative changes in a few years, investigates different methods, technics and application. One of the last applications that is thought to be implemented aims being the foreign language teaching for practical and daily life. Thus, lessons will be directed to the interaction and communicative, learners will be able to be very active with activities. This method’s principles considered as a solution to the problems in verbal comprehension and expression aspects of foreign language teaching remind of the actional approach in terms of applications and principles. This study with the nature of literature aims to deal with the actional approach and its principles, classroom practices and also to provide solutions in the implementation of foreign language teaching. In public schools English, German, French textbooks should be re-prepared by adopting the principles of the actional approach emphased by the Framework for the European Common Proposals which is consider foreign language as a part of life rather than any course, rendering individual as practicing language removing the learner position of him or her, which emphasis on mutual interaction and application at school, the methods should be introduced with seminars, workshops for teachers of foreign languages. This approach can improve especially communication skills and proficiency of learners in the next class when it is applied at an early age in school.
