One of the remarkable writings of Cenap Şahabettin is ‘Mekteplerde Edebiyat’, which was published in the journal of Âşiyân, on November 19, 1908. This essay consists of his opinions on how should be done the ideal literary education. In our study, Cenap Şahabettin’s essay titled ‘Mekteplerde Edebiyat’, which was published in the journal of Âşiyân will be presented by transferring to Latin alphabet. Also, his opinions that he put forward in “Mekteplerde Edebiyat” will be analyzed and his thoughts and propositions on the aims, methods and functions of literary education will be discussed.
