Abstract

In this research, it is aimed to determine the possible relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance and some demographic characteristics. For this purpose, a total of 203 people working in various enterprises operating in the production sectors in Kahramanmaraş province were surveyed. Questionnaire was used as data collection method in the research. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed by using the SPSS program. According to the results of the research; it was determined that there was a statistically significant positive correlation relationship between dimensions of emotional intelligence (self-emotions appraisal, other-emotions appraisal, use of emotion and regulation of emotion) and employees' job performance levels. It was also determined that dimension of emotional intelligence (regulation of emotion) vary significantly among gender and level of education variable; dimension of emotional intelligence (use of emotion) and levels of job performance vary significantly among marital status variable; dimensions of emotional intelligence (other-emotions appraisal, use of emotion) levels of job performance vary significantly among level of income.
