It is emphasized that the distinctive feature of servant leadership from other approaches is the characteristics of this type of leadership. Therefore it is possible to evaluate about whether a leader is a servant by handling the characteristics of the servant leadership. In this frame of work Yavuz Sultan Selim, who was an influential sultan with his attitudes and behaviors in determining the course of the Ottoman Empire has been evaluated in terms of the characteristics of the servant leadership.
