Television is an easily accessible and cheap mass communication tool. The use of television can lead to the development of the child as well as cause serious problems. The level of consciousness of the family, the nature of the communication that the family builds with the child while watching television, children's television tracking time and features and types of broadcasts being watched will be effective in the emergence of positive and negative consequences. In this context, the task of protecting children from the negative effects of television falls on the media, the parents, the health personnel who make their parents aware, the school and the state. The need to regulate and supervise television broadcasts has arisen with the launch of private TV channels. RTUK is thus established. The aim of the study is to identify the threats that children could face at the screen by examining the decisions taken by Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) during 2016. In this article, the sanction decisions taken by RTUK in order to protect children from negative effects of television are examined by content analysis method. According to the results of the study, it was determined that children are most at risk of being faced to negative effects of television because of sexuality, violence and the lack of appropriate use of protective symbols.
