Şiir Çevirilerinin Makine Çevirisi Üzerinden Değerlendirilmesi: Paul Celan Şiirlerini Makine Çevirisi ile Okumak

Çağımızda teknolojik gelişmelerin hızla artması, çevirinin de bu gelişmelerden bir pay almasına ortam hazırlamıştır. Hızla gelişen teknolojik ağ, çevirinin de makine çevirisi kapsamında bazı gelişmeleri yaşamasını sağlamıştır. Gelişen teknolojiye ayak uydurmak, çeviri sürecini kolaylaştırmak ve hızlandırmak açısından önem taşımaktadır. Fakat çeviri araçlarından ne ölçüde yararlanılması gerektiği bir tartışma konusudur. Özellikle metin türlerinde çeviri araçlarının yeri ve kullanılabilirliği tartışmaya açıktır. Bu çalışmada ise zor bir tür olan şiir çevirisinde çeviri araçlarının yeri ve çeviri ürün tartışılmaktadır. Şair Paul Celan’ın seçilen şiirleri, Google, Yandex ve Bing çeviride Almancadan Türkçeye çevirtilmiştir ve elde edilen çeviri ürün, çevirmen Ahmet Cemal’in çevirileri ile kıyaslanmıştır. Sonuç olarak şiir çevirilerinde makine çevirisinin tam bir eş değer çeviriyi yakalayamadığı ancak makine çevirisi çıktısının uzman bir çevirmenin elinden geçerek post-editing sürecinin önemi ve makinenin, insan çevirmenin yardımcı aracı olması gerektiği vurgulanmaktadır.

Abstract
The increase in rapidly developing technological developments in our age has prepared the environment for translation to take a share from these developments. Within the rapidly developing technological network, it has also enabled translation to experience some developments within the scope of machine translation. Keeping up with the developing technology is important in terms of facilitating and accelerating the translation process. However, the extent to which translation tools should be used is a matter of debate. The place and usability of translation tools, especially in literary text types, is open to discussion. In this study, the place of translation tools in poetry translation, which is a difficult genre, and the translation product are discussed. Selected poems of Paul Celan were translated from German to Turkish in Google, Yandex and Bing translation, and the resulting translated product was compared with the translations of translator Ahmet Cemal. As a result, it is emphasized that machine translation cannot achieve an exact equivalent translation in poetry translations, but the machine translation output must be checked by an expert translator, the importance of the post-editing process and the machine should be the auxiliary tool of the human translator.
