Siegfried Sassoon demonstrates a stark difference in his approach to war in his poetry. In this regard, his poetry can be divided into two: his poetry before the war and his poetry after the war. Sassoon experienced a radical transformation from a patriotic stance into an anti-war discourse in his attitude toward the war under the strong influence of his personal experiences of the war. In this context, this study will seek to analyze Sassoon’s prewar poetry and his poetry reflecting trench warfare, in particular his poems, ‚Absolution,‛ ‚The Effect,‛ ‚Suicide in the Trenches,‛ and ‚The Dug-Out‛ in the light of Michel Foucault’s concept of discourse. This analysis will ultimately reveal how a nationalistic discourse may easily turn into an anti-nationalistic discourse contingent on first-hand experience as in the case of Siegfried Sassoon.

The study aims to analyze how ICT (Information and Communication Technology) factors affect on the economy and society. The study had analyzed how environmental, readiness and usage factors affect socio-economy. A panel data collected from 60 countries published in the Global Information Technology Reports from 2014 to 2016 periods are used in the study. Multivariate analysis of variance (Manova) method was applied in the analysis as the data has two continuous dependents (social & economy) variables. Study findings showed that the Manova model is significant statistically in all four different statistical tests. The study also found that all independent (environmental, readiness, and usage) variables are significant statistically at either 1%, 5%, or 10% level in both equations.

While microbes have evolved in human history in such a clever and clever way to survive, whenever people start to fight, after these wars, four horsemen of the apocalypse appear. The four horsemen of the apocalypse: war, famine, plague and death always roam together. Andrew Nikiforuk explains this situation as "No matter how hard modern man tries, he can neither defeat the upper organisms, nor fool the fourth horseman" (Nikiforuk: 2018). Time will tell whether the future people will behave well to the world and each other, but Covid-19 may have shown the world how much human needs technology and human interaction. Epidemics also bring about social transformation. Since January of 2020, Covid-19 areas under the influence of Turkey has emerged as changes in teaching and learning process with the pandemic. This change brought about a technological change. The process of change and expansion that started in a certain part of the society has revealed the working and educational life that the masses continue at home. Training processes started to be continued distance learning. Foundations and state universities across Turkey, have been online for a short time to adapt to the educational process. The online education process from home, which started as of March 2020, has started to continue.

Mary Shelley’s well-known novel <em>Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus </em>(1818) has been one of the greatest works of English literature. The novel contains such a great number and variety of elements that - since its publication, while being studied by many authors - it has been studied from various perspectives from feminism to Marxism, from materialism to psychology. Accordingly, based on a transhumanist view, this paper has been prepared to query the ethics and limits of science by combining and equalling Victor Frankenstein’s Monster and the technology operated with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The paper interrogates to what extent the gadgets both technological and non-technological produced for the good of humanity are useful, and whether they pose a threat to the lifecycle of the universe.

Africans were interested in Arabic literature in its various arts, especially the art of Arabic poetry, and they paid special attention to it. There is no doubt that this poetry written by these people includes almost all the aims of Arabic poetry, including praise, pride, rebuke, describing and showing sadness, sorrow, longing, nostalgia, and others. From this standpoint, our study aimed to address the aspect of nostalgia in the poetry of sub-Saharan Africa, specifically the western region of the continent, as well as seeking to demonstrate the meanings of nostalgia and its various themes that it included while shedding light on the motives of nostalgia poetry and the reasons for its spread in the region's literature. The researcher has reached through the study several results, including that African poets have touched on the phenomenon of nostalgia in their various poems, and entered its walls from the widest range and sincerest emotion, expressing their feelings with charming words and sweet melodies. Longing and nostalgia for a family loved ones and homelands is one of the most important themes of nostalgia that abounds in Arab-African poetry. The trip, arrest, and deportation were among the reasons for the spread of this poetic color in Africa. It should be noted that the most important meanings of nostalgia in the region’s poetry are the longing of the African poet for his homeland, his depiction of farewell scenes that broke his heart, the effect of this alienation on the soul of the expatriate, and the description of what the expatriate suffers during his expatriation, and his remembrance of his happy days at home, youth and youth playgrounds, and others.

THE REPRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS OF POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER IN THE MOVIE NARRATIVE THE MONITOR (2011)

The present study analyses the Norwegian film framed with the motifs of suicide and murder, <em>The Monitor </em>(2011), in terms of trauma and related terminology and the narrative technique of the character-focalizer. Written and directed by Pål Sletaune and starring Noomi Rapace and Kristoffer Joner, the movie centres around a traumatized woman who was taken under protection by the government after being exposed to domestic violence and narrates the story through the use of flashbacks. Her son was killed by her husband who then committed suicide, but the character becomes unable to remember these facts due to amnesia. Supposing that the son is still alive with her and the husband in search of them, the character cannot adapt herself to society and rejects language in the aftermath of trauma. This study analyses her recurrent nightmares and insomnia as well as hallucinations and delusions within the context of post-traumatic stress disorder and related concepts. In this respect, she fails to perform both social gender roles for whom the roles of wife and motherhood are ascribed and her self-perception as a woman is damaged in a way that the trauma she experiences develops into psychosis and causes the protagonist to lose her touch with reality. Moreover, due to the cinematic technique prevailing the filmic narrative, the implied and historical audience becomes aware of the traumatic events at the end of the film, re-experiencing the trauma of the protagonist and having empathic trauma at the same time. The study accordingly suggests that this is owing to the use of the protagonist as a character-focalizer and monitor in the narrative.

The roots of Turkey's relations with the integration movement (now called the European Union), founded in Europe after the World War II, dates back to the applied for association on July 31, 1959. As of this initial phase, relations have shown progress in some periods, whereas they have followed a stable course or encountered some crises in other periods. Various milestones have been experienced in this process covering more than half a century. It is possible to examine these milestones from the initial application process to the Customs Union decision and full membership negotiations. The application for full membership on April 14, 1987 represents one of these milestones. This step was considered a significant development in terms of Turkish foreign policy during the Turgut Özal period. The aim of the study is to analyze how the development is reflected in the national press of Turkey and what clues these reflections represent in terms of relations. Reflections on the application were examined in the newspapers including <em>Cumhuriyet, Günaydın, Milliyet, Sabah </em>and <em>Tercüman </em>on April 15 and 16, 1987 following the application.

Only few people survived the flood that took place at the time of Prophet Noah; thus, Prophet Noah is regarded as the second ancestor of the humankind following Prophet Adam. The research has proved that there are a number of miniatures on Noah’s Ark and Flood done traditionally in different eras and styles. The interpretations of these invaluable works demonstrate the perceptions of people regarding Noah’s Flood as well as the structure of the community at the time they were created while they also give hints of the folklore of that specific time. In addition to this, various symbolic representations have been explored in the miniature interpretations of Noah’s Ark, and it has been found, in the literature research, that these symbolic representations date back to the earliest beliefs and tenets of Turkish mythology. The main themes of the miniature works depicting Noah’s Flood are building the ark, the matter of life and death during the outbreak of flood, the religious people embarking on the ark and the animals taken into the ark.

Fairy chimneys are landforms which remains in semi-arid areas after soft rocks such as volcanic ash and volcanic tuff are eroded by rain and flood waters. Şavşat fairy chimneys were formed on the pyroclastic bedrock, under Picea orientalis flora, at an altitude of 1500 meters and on the southern slopes. The main purpose of the study is to examine the formation, development and geotourism potential of these fairy chimneys. In the study, field observations, geographical information systems and remote sensing techniques were used. What distinguishes fairy chimneys located in Meşeli Village of Şavşat district of Artvin from others in our other regions is that they are little known and mainly formed in a lush green forest under humid climatic conditions. With this feature, it can be said that these fairy chimneys are a hidden geomorphological heritage. In addition, Şavşat fairy chimneys are in Karagöl-Sahara National Park and are one of the important geomorphic sites which can be used for scientific and touristic purposes. In this respect, a more vibrant tourism center in the region can be created by implementing the principles of "use", "not break-protect", "win and sustain" in the tourism cycle. Thus, tourism in rural development can be transformed into a leading sector.

Professional development studies are undoubtedly very important for teachers, who are one of the important elements of education, which we can call an endless learning cycle. In this sense, school-based professional development model emerges as an alternative model for professional development studies. The aim of this study is to determine the School-based professional development (SBPD) perspectives of administrators and teachers working in primary and secondary schools. In this study, phenomenological research design was used as qualitative research design method. Maximum variation sampling was used in the study as purposive sampling type. Study group consists of 18 administrator and teacher from different school types. Semi-structured interview form was used as data collection instrument. Content analysis was used as data analysis. According to the results of the research, it was concluded that the school-based professional development of the administrators and teachers was seen as the professional studies that the school staff did in cooperation with the professional development of everyone working in the school. In addition, it has been determined that one of the most important contributions of SBPD activities is the organization of trainings according to the needs of teachers. It may be suggested that the professional studies to be conducted should be arranged according to the needs of the region and teachers.

It was aimed to develop a scale to reveal teachers' self-efficacy to create digital material with this research. Content and construct validity based on expert evaluations on the basis of a rational approach were made within the scope of validity. Statistically; construct validity studies were carried out with exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and convergent validity analysis. Cronbach alpha, split-half and composite reliability determination techniques were used in the reliability analysis. With the analyzes regarding the explanation of the structure and Horn parallel analysis, a single factor scale with 26 items explaining 92.2% of the total variance was obtained. In the model tested with CFA, the standardized values of the items vary between 0.86 and 0.98, all t values are statistically significant; It was concluded that the fit indices of the measurement model tested were within perfect / acceptable criteria. Convergent validity calculated with CFA findings in a single factor structure is 0.88. The Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was 0.99 in both study groups. The composite reliability coefficient (CR) calculated with CFA was found to be 0.885. These findings showed that "Teachers' Self-Efficacy Scale for Creating Digital Materials" is scientifically and psychometrically reliable and valid.

In our age, children are increasingly exposed to digital environments. Associated with the necessity of reading retains its importance, it is not easy for children to read books by classical methods. For this reason, it is believed that different activities with children, especially at an early age, can contribute to children's attitudes towards reading. Based on this idea, the aim of the research is to reveal the impact of creative reading activities on students ' attitudes towards reading. Research was conducted in Amasya province and central districts with 20 classroom teachers working in 16 schools, 15 of which are state and 1 of which are private schools, and 413 students studying in the classes of these classroom teachers. Teachers who participated in the research were given in-service training, which included theoretical foundations of creative reading and examples of practice. Data in the study were obtained using the “Reading Attitude Scale” adapted by Kocarslan (2016) to Turkish. The scale consists of 2 sub-factors: reading for entertainment and academic reading. The data collection tool was implemented as the pretest and posttest. According to the data, it was concluded that the pretest score obtained from the reading for entertainment subscale were X=33,79, while the postest average score was X=34.81. Across the scale, the students' pre-est average scores were X=67.41, while the final test scores were X = 69.55. When the interviews with the teachers were analyzed, the opinions of the teachers are presented under the themes; (1) enjoying reading (2) habit of reading, (3) curiosity and research, (4) self-discovery, (5) a free and flexible environment, (6) entertainment, (7) communication, (8) being active, (9) the development of the imagination, (10) view from different angles. After implementation, it was found that there was a significant difference in favor of the posttest across the scale in both reading for entertainment and academic reading. According to the results, students' reading levels were also good, considering that the highest score possible from the scale was 80.

The individual retains the identity which is started to develop with birth, even after death. In community life in which collective identity is active as well as individual identities, death of the individual is a beginning of ritual, belief and expectation which supply with many individual and social needs rather than an end. After death of the individual, what will happen to the dead body, the cemetery body will be buried, method and schedule of burial procedures, who will come to the burial and the construction of the grave have the qualities to represent the identities of both individual and society. For many cultures, headstones, which are seen as an important element of the grave, come into prominences in this representation. Issues such as the way these stones are made, the information and symbols they include or exclude are determined according to the characteristics of the society, culture and period. The stones turn into visual signs that reflect individual, collective and place identities. The subject of this study is that headstones as visual signs undertake the representation of identity and have characteristics of the genre of the period. The scope of the study is determined as Sakarya Erenler Cemetery. As a sample, apparent ones among the headstones from the Ottoman Empire and Republican Period were selected. Selected examples were examined in many ways such as the material they were made from, form and content of the epitaphs and the symbols.
THE MORPHO-SEMANTIC FUNCTIONS OF THE SUFFIXES IN TURKISH MAKING NOUNS FROM NOUNS

Suffixes are the main elements of word derivation in Turkish when the language structure is considered. Some of the suffixes are included in the group of derivational affixes that form new noun or verb stems from the noun or verb roots and stems. This study focuses on the suffixes making nouns from nouns. Suffixes making nouns from nouns are the ones that are used to make a new noun from noun roots or stems. A new meaning also emerges in the words created by derivation. In grammar studies, only the functions of the suffixes are emphasized while the meaning that they give to the word is ignored. There is a relationship between function and meaning, but the meanings given by the suffixes are diverse. Therefore, rather than the function of suffixes, this study tries to reveal how suffixes give different meanings to words in terms of morpho-semantic derivation. There is no definition for morpho-semantics in the sources. However, it can be considered as a sub-branch of semantics which examines the meanings that suffixes give to the words they are added. In this study, it has been determined that some suffixes are connected with the root or stem to which they are added; some suffixes create a meaning different from the meaning of the root or stem, and some suffixes derive a meaningful new word from words that do not have a meaning alone. How morpho-semantic derivation contributes to new concepts and vocabulary has been shown as well. In this study, the morphological and semantic functions of the suffixes making nouns from nouns identified in the works we examined have been discussed. The suffixes making a noun from noun have been determined, and after giving information about the morpho-semantic derivation, the works were examined.

MANSUR AL-HALLAJ IN CLASSICAL PERSIAN POETRY

Mansur al-Hallaj, one of the most famous Sufis in the history of Sufizm, made important contributions to the development of Sufism. His words and legends have been extremely influential among Muslims throughout the ages. It is the understanding of “wahdat al-wujûd” that forms the basis of mystical thought in Mansur al-Hallaj. According to Hallaj, who prepared the belief on the unity of being, it is only God that exists absolutely because everything is the result of God’s reflection. The concept of “ana’l-haqq” that Hallaj puts forward on this subject is the destruction of one’s own self and becoming a reality. “Ana’l-haqq” which is used to see God in everything, is now a term used to describe God. Hallaj, who attracted the reaction of religious and political environments with the idea of “ana’l-haqq” was executed by hanging on the gallows. After massacre of Hallaj, Sufism had a heavy depression, but supporters of Sufism increased. Classical Persian poetry was deeply influenced by Hallaj’s ideas as well as this influence of Hallâj in Sufism. Hallâc’s legendary life and tragic way of death caused him to become a legend and create symbols about him. The symbols of the “ana’l-haqq” and “gallows” were frequently used in poems, and the name of Hallaj was used to symbolize the mystic and lover who were ready to give life. In Iranian Literature, where the name of Mansur al-Hallaj, who has a great influence on the Eastern culture and literature, is mentioned frequently, such as Fariduddin Attar, Hafez Shirazi, Sana’i Ghaznavi, Mawlana and Abu Said who poets one of the important figures of Classical Persian poetry, talked about Hallâc in their poems. His life story, his execution, his opposition to injustice, the word “ana’l-haqq”, and the understanding of Wahdat al-wujûd were shown in poems through the art of words such as quotation, telmih (allusion) and teşbih (simile). In our study, we tried to reveal these with various examples.

In musicology, numerous studies recording the field of music have been conducted during the medieval period. Since ancient times, therefore, the first works encompassing women in musicology literature were written. The underlying aspect of this is that almost all mythological events, lyrical poems, theatrical plays, political and philosophical works written on women from Homer to Meandros were written by men. As a result of this, historical events were explained from the perspective of the dominant male society. In the social structure of society, the world of women and men are seen as completely different. According to this structure, the duty of the woman was determined by taking care of the housework and family members. Since there was male dominance in society in the middle ages, women remained in the background, especially in the field of music.
Life is not static but dynamic, and the culture, values and habits associated with it also vary. Not all people react in the same way to accept or reject each different belief or understanding they have encountered throughout their lives. However, all religions have a purpose and claim to be accepted and experienced. This is the case for Judaism and Christianity as well. However, some of their addressees rejected them and opposed their prophet, and some welcomed and adopted them. Some have chosen to change their religion, adapt it to their own lives or take advantage of it. Therefore, this situation cased their holy books and religions to be subject to de facto alteration/distortion (falsification) and to be distorted from their purpose. The Quran has informed this and warned about its importance. In this sense, the Quran states that this holy books of those religions were falsified while putting forward that its revelations are protected, it includes no doubts, it is the last guide to the right path, it is superior to other religions. The Quran presented the case of falsification by addressing the issue in the context of both itself and those religions. Therefore, it informs people that the books of those religions are corrupted by comparing them, and prompts them to reconsider and be careful. It confronts them with a choice regarding true and falsified/invalid religions. In this regard, the Quran emphasizes the truth of the religion of Islam, its reason, meaning and importance. We tried to address, evaluate the aforementioned issues on the Quran within meaning and context integrity of revelations, and different opinions of Islam scholars/glossators and to present them with its results. We hope that presenting this study with examination and research in the light of the above information and thoughts will be useful and contribute to the Islamic literature.
