The psychoanalytic approach to literature emphasizes the role of psychological motivations and conflicts in shaping a character’s behavior and actions in a literary work. This article explores Graham Swift’s The Light of Day, a richly-imagined narrative that offers an evocative account of events in a single day. By drawing on the major elements of Freud’s psychoanalysis, the article illuminates how literary works offer a means of accessing and analyzing the unconscious desires, anxieties, and conflicts of the author and their characters. Swift’s narrative technique is unconventional, employing the first-person narrator, suspense, and hidden meanings to create a convincing portrait of mystery and the structure of the human mind through the stream of consciousness. The article investigates how experienced time can reveal childhood traumas and memories within a narrative that takes place in less than a day. By using psychoanalytic rea-ding, the Freudian concept of the unconscious, the effects of the id, ego, and superego, repressed desires, feelings, and childhood traumas are brought to the forefront to deconstruct the single-day framework and reveal the protagonist's developmental process of identity. The article offers a critical analysis of the text, drawing on the theories of Freud to analyze the complex psychological motivations and conflicts that underlie the actions and behaviors of the characters. The article provides a comprehensive exploration of the text and offers insights into how literature can serve as a means of accessing and analyzing the unconscious desires, anxieties, and conflicts of the author and their characters.

In the middle of the 19th century, the Ottoman Empire faced a serious migration from the Caucasus. The main reason for this migration is the oppressive attitude of the Russians to the peoples in the Caucasus region and their political and military sanctions. One of the people who had to migrate from the Caucasus to Anatolia is the Adige-Circassians. Circassians, who were settled in many cities, especially in the Marmara and Black Sea regions, are known as a patriotic nation, loyal to the Ottoman Empire and later to the Republic. One of the cities where Circassian immigration is intense is Düzce. Düzce is a city where culturally very colorful ethnic identities live together. Many peoples such as Circassians, Abkhaz and Georgians have been peacefully present in Düzce for about 2 centuries. The aim of this research is to reveal the wedding customs and musical rituals of the Circassians living in Bataklıçiftlik Village of Düzce city center in all aspects. Case study, one of the qualitative research models, was used in the research. In the study, interviews were held with the village residents, documents, photographs were obtained, classified, and made in the field with direct and direct observations. As a result of the study, it has been seen that the Circassians living in Düzce Bataklıçiftlik Village try to stick to their traditions and customs today as they used to. It has been observed that music and dances in wedding ceremonies have an important place in the continuity of culture.

The Status of Femininity in Refik Halid Karay’s Story Yatık Emine

Being one of the writers of the National Literature Period, Refik Halid Karay is a literary figure known for his works in the genres of satire, memoir and chronicle, especially novels and short stories. Written in a simple and clear Turkish, Memleket Hikâyeleri, which is identified with the author’s name, depicts the life of Anatolian people forgotten by the Turkish intellectuals and the government. The story Yatık Emine in this book is one of Refik Halid Karay’s most controversial and influential stories. In the story, the themes of bureaucracy, civil service, women and exile are dealt with through religion, conscience and morality, centred on a fallen woman. The author reflects the woman in the intersection of the roles assigned to her by gender stereotypes and prejudices. In the story, a woman type who is devoted to the family, self-sacrificing and honourable is idealised in line with patriarchal values. In the story, which criticises the concept of social morality, the concept of honour is directly linked to the chastity of women, while the sexuality of women turns into a socialised concept. Emine, the protagonist of the story, who is regarded as the cause and responsible for the misfortunes and the negativities occurred and who is embodied as the image of the fallen woman, is not only subjected to social marginalisation but also to verbal and physical violence. In the story, while masculine domination is strengthened through power relations, the woman, who is forced into a subordinate position, is pushed to live in the way prescribed by gender with learned helplessness. The author criticises the masculine system of thought that justifies and/or legitimises economic, psychological, verbal and physical violence through the image of the prostitute woman in terms of social, legal and moral aspects. The story is unique in that it contributes to making such a social problem visible in the literature of women and women’s problems a century ago.

The soul, namely psyche, is a subject that is closely related not only to philosophy, but also to many disciplines, from biology and medicine to psychology, from parapsychology and spiritualism to theology. Is there such a thing as a soul? If so what is it? How does the soul relate to the body? According to the answers given to these questions, many theories on the soul have emerged. It is seen that the concept of psykhe in ancient Greek philosophy has very different functions and definitions by different thinkers. The soul is defined as a principle of action or a principle of sensation in some thinkers, the divine and immortal part of man in some, and the source and carrier of moral responsibilities in some other thinkers. It is a situation that requires explanation that thinkers have attributed so many different functions to a single concept, the spirit. In order to explain this difference in meaning, it is necessary to focus on the pre-philosophical use of the concept, especially its definitions and functions in mythological texts. In this study, the use of the concept of psykhe in the pre-philosophical mythological period will be analyzed based on the works of Homer and Hesiod, two important poets who shaped the world of ancient Greek thought before the emergence of philosophy. Examination of the understandings of spirit in the texts written by these two poets is of great importance in terms of fully understanding the views of Greek philosophers, both because of their role in the formation of the historical and cultural conditions in which philosophy flourished, and because of the hidden and open effects they had on the philosophers' thoughts.

The aim of this study is to examine the burnout levels of classroom teachers from a general point of view and to reveal the factors that cause burnout. Literature review method was used in the study. According to the literature, it has been seen that the most postgraduate thesis work has been done in this field. Questionnaire method was mostly used as data collection tool in theses. As a result of the literature review, it is seen that classroom teachers experience more burnout than other branch teachers, and the reason for this is the difficulty of dealing with the problems of younger students. Classroom teachers' course load, crowded classes, age, job satisfaction, working with the same students for a long time are among the other factors that increase the burnout of classroom teachers. It was seen that the emotional burnout of the classroom teachers, being appreciated by the school administration and other teachers, the level of satisfaction with the salary they receive, the moral satisfaction they receive from their profession are important for productivity and depersonalization in the profession. In order to eliminate the burnout problems of classroom teachers, the causes of burnout should be determined correctly and these reasons should be eliminated through in-service training and course activities. In addition, social, cultural and sports activities organized in schools help prevent burnout.

Space Perception and Art: The Case of Anish Kapoor

Subjective communication between human and space takes place in the experience of an architectural work; humans perceive and evaluate space and emptiness through their senses and come to a logical conclusion. While space integrates physical and mental structures, it adds solidity and meaning to the individual's existential experience. It is argued that architectural space is not an independent entity from its surroundings; distinctions and integrations between space and its environment are defined by emptiness. Spatial experience is a personal state; the subject, object, or value associated with an object is manifested in reactions to the space. In this sense, our body and mental experience play an important role in the formation of the image that is considered spatial reality. Although architectural space has boundaries, it represents the world; therefore, our perception of the world begins in space. According to the definition of the Turkish Language Association, space means "place, location, home, homeland, and space". According to this definition, any environment, even if it is a space such as open, closed, semi-open, or infinite, in terms of emptiness, refers to space. This study aims to question the meaning of filling the void by evaluating the concepts of space and emptiness together with the branch of fine arts, sculpture. For this purpose, the works of the artist Anish Kapoor, who applies the perception of emptiness in space with a bold scale and innovative material choice, and who pays attention to the material, color, and carrying capacity properties in his sculptures, will be examined in terms of its connection with architecture and its design concepts. The groundwork of the study will also touch on fields related to architecture, such as interior design, landscape architecture, urban planning, material, and construction technology.

Eisenberger, Cummings, Armeli, & Lynch, (1997) and Lynch, Eisenberger and Armeli (1999) and adapted into Turkish by Kaplan (2010), the Perceived Organizational Support Scale was used. In order to determine teachers' job satisfaction levels, Weiss, Dawis, England and Lofquist (1967) The 100-item Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale, consisting of 20 items, was used. To evaluate the research data; percentage, frequency, standard deviation, arithmetic mean, values were calculated, one-way analysis of variance, t-Test, Correlation and regression analyzes were performed. According to the results obtained, it has been determined that male teachers give more importance to external satisfaction than female teachers, and branch teachers give more importance to external satisfaction than classroom teachers. According to the seniority variable, there was no significant difference in the views on both perceived organizational support and job satisfaction. The relationship and effect between the variables were also examined. In the correlation analysis, it was determined that perceived organizational support was associated with job satisfaction at a low level. In the regression analysis, the effect of perceived organizational support on job satisfaction was tested. According to the results of this analysis, it was revealed that perceived organizational support explained 13.4% of the variance in job satisfaction.

The importance and place of values and values education is great in the education process that starts in the family institution. Value; It can be thought of as the whole of the concepts that guide the society starting from the individual. Since the behavior of the individual is shaped by values, the education of values is a lifelong process, being more weighty and important in family and school life. Values also affect social life. For example, the culture of living together has certain conditions and rules. These terms and rules create values. It is inevitable for the values that have such an important place in human life, both individually and socially, to take place in literary works. As a matter of fact, literary works also take their subject from human beings. It is possible to see values and some traces of values in these products, and the values in question can also be taught to that society through them. There are many elements of values, especially in oral literature products. In values education, genres such as epic, fairy tale, legend and minstrel-style products can be used. In all of these, it is possible to identify many cultural and national values. Among these genres, the place of the tale is more important in terms of values education. It can be said that tales are more suitable for this in terms of their roles and functions. Giving importance to values education, the Ministry of National Education (2019) determined ten root values and included them in the curriculum. Researchers have done many studies on these ten root values. There are also many studies on the determination of root values in literary products. As a result of researches and studies, it is revealed that they can be used in values education. Due to the nature of the tales, it is possible to talk about some values in the tales of all nations. In this article, ten root values on the tales of Khakas Turks were investigated. Qualitative research method was used and data were obtained by document analysis technique. The aim of the study is to determine the root values in the Tales of Khakas Turks. The values of love and benevolence come to the fore the most in the fairy tale texts examined. This shows that Khakas tales are suitable for instilling a sense of brotherhood and solidarity. As a result of the determinations that can be made, it has been suggested that these values can be used in the education process. If Khakas tales and other genres are also used in values education, the cultural unity with Khakas Turks can be strengthened and contribute to the determination of common cultural elements. There may also be partnerships in terms of values.

The rule that there can be no accused without a lawyer is one of the basic principles. The defense counsel serves to reveal the material truth for the benefit of the suspect and the accused. The right to a fair trial can only be protected and realized if the person actively participates in the trial. The need for the right to benefit from a defense counsel stems from the importance of the right to defense in criminal proceedings.
In this study, it was aimed to determine the folkloric methods applied in the diagnosis and treatment of parasitic diseases of animals among the people in Diyarbakır. In this context, folkloric information was collected by conducting face-to-face interviews with 62 people who have knowledge about the subjects between 2016-2018. The material of the study consisted of written and oral data obtained through “information forms”. It has been determined that there are various disease nomenclatures (kurmî, berxûrkî, gevgeve, gêj, rekık, etc.) in the local language. From parasitic diseases; folkloric data on lice, fleas, ticks, leeches, myiasis, oestrus ovis, nocra, scabies, fasciolosis, stomach and intestinal parasites, coenurus cerebralis, babesiosis and theileriosis were obtained. Among the treatment applications for diseases; it has been determined that raw materials of animal (runi hiz, butter, yoghurt, ayran, etc.), vegetable (vinegar, molasses, tobacco, garlic, etc.) and mineral (motor oil, grease, lime, soap, etc.) origin raw materials are used. In addition, it has been determined that superstitions (gun shooting, killing moles, blasting ticks under the tongue, etc.), religious-magic practices (using a pilgrimage stone, etc.), bloodshed and cautery are used. In conclusion, it can be argued that Diyarbakır, which has hosted many civilizations throughout the ages, has a rich collection of folklore, whose origins date back to ancient civilizations and where similar treatment practices were applied in Anatolia.

This study examines the readiness of human resources in Turkey towards Industry 4.0comparatively with the EU (EuropeanUnion) countries. Therefore, theaim of thisstudy is to analyse the availability of human resources in Turkey in comparison with the EU. Another aim of this study is to explore the relative performance of the EU economies with each other. The reason of this comparison is that Turkey is a candidate country and follows the industrial policies, which were generally formulated in Lisbon Agenda and in 2020 Strategy of the EU. 12 human resources indicators are classified under three categories as education level, digitalskillsand internet use, andemployment. Statistical data is obtained from Eurostat, European Statistical Office. Using Ward’sclustering, four main clusters are identified. Principal components and cluster analysis methodologies are employed to detailed human resources indicators. Turkeyforms a cluster with some countries in the south of the EU andwith some new members of the EU. Croatia, Poland, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus and Turkey constitute one cluster. For every variable included in the analysis group averages for every cluster are calculated, and the cluster which contains Turkey generally presents the worst performance. Turkish data for every variable is alsobelowthecluster averages which she belongs. Luxembourg showed the best performance in terms of human resources among the chosen countries. To the best of our knowledge, this article is the first one which presents the relative performance of the countries in transition to Industry 4.0 by using principal components analysis and cluster analysis methodologies of multivariate statistical techniques to detailed human resources indicators for Turkey and the EU members.

Samsun province, located in the Black Sea Region, has two important delta plains in Turkey, but most of its lands are mountainous and rugged. Industrial facilities are concentrated in Tekkeköy district, east of the urban. These facilities continue their by occupying fertile agricultural areas in the direction of Çarşamba Plain. In this study, the geomorphological characteristics of the lands selected for the location of the industrial facilities have been investigated as one by one or an organized industrial zone in Samsun. In this research, the surface and density analyzes of the Samsun province and industrial plants have been made on Geography Information Systems. According to this, the spatial distribution of industrial facilities has been determined. These are the existing factories in Samsun, those under construction and those at the project stage. According to the result obtained, Industrial facilities and organized industrial zones are mostly on first class agricultural lands in the urban of Samsun. It has been determined that they especially developed towards Çarşamba Plain. Organized industrial zones of Havza, Kavak and Bafra, which are alternative industrial areas, have been built on non-agricultural areas. Thus, it was expected that the industry would show a balanced distribution throughout the province. However for the new OIZs, the agenda of the Çarşamba Plain, which was previously declared an agricultural site area, and the studies carried out in this direction were considered as worrying.

The changing and transforming new world order, the final outcome of the globalization in the 1980s, has also led to the criticism of art and the art object, and has paved the way for the acceleration of certain arguments. The foundation of one of these arguments, the line between the work-the artist-the audience, dates back to the 1960s and widely blurred in the 1980s when many artists with a critical identity, who adopted the violation of the hierarchical distinction between art and life as their principle, directed their gaze not to the object, but to the subject, and therefore to the relationship between subjects. Contrary to a completed work, the artists, who incline to the works that are reshaped with each participant/audience and process, have brought the dynamics of social interaction into the sacred sanctuary of art by opening the role of the audience to discussion. Therefore, these artists, who are the source of collaborative practices where it might be said that production begins where interaction begins, have carried out their criticism of art and art theories through collaborative and participatory practices that center on audience participation; they have appropriated forms of everyday life on a level where collective consciousness is reinforced rather than individual identity. These participatory practices, which open the attitude of the audience to discussion and offer an alternative production model to art, are in a way the artist’s way of establishing an independent relationship with life.

In this study, the geotourism potential of Kabaceviz Team Waterfalls within the borders of Kabaceviz neighborhood of Çarşamba district of Samsun province was examined. The aim of the study is to determine the tourism potential of this important geomorphosite, which has not been the subject of a scientific study so far, by M-GAM method and to contribute to its promotion. The waterfalls have a great potential for the development of geotourism with its visual landscape and the unspoiled natural structure around it. Kabaceviz Team Waterfalls, consisting of six successive cascades of different heights and widths in the lower course of Güllü Creek valley, has a rich diversity both as a geomorphosite and with its surrounding natural environment features. The data for the study were obtained through field observations and measurements and the evaluation of the results of the questionnaire applied to visitors. Modified Geosite Assessment Model (M-GAM) was used to determine the geotourism potential of Kabaceviz Team Waterfalls. Since the M-GAM model allows each sub-indicator to be evaluated by visitors as well as researchers, it allows more accurate evaluations to be made from a meaningful and objective perspective. According to this model applied at the end of the study, Kabaceviz Team Waterfalls received 8.11 points from the main values and 5.22 points from the additional values. This score enabled the geomorphosite to be included in the Z32 section of the M-GAM matrix. This shows that although the geomorphosite has high scientific, aesthetic and conservation values, the number of tourists and investments are insufficient. However, improving promotional activities, basic tourism infrastructure, visitor centers and tourist guidance services will allow more visitors to come here.

In the study, multicolored painted sgraffito ceramic pot samples from the Seljuk period with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic motifs, which were unearthed as a result of archaeological excavations in the ancient city of Şamkir, located in the western region of the Turkish Republic of Azerbaijan, were evaluated. In addition to the scraping technique, green, yellow, mustard, chestnut colors and also white angob paint, which serves as a lining, were used on the ceramics. In many examples, it is seen that the figures with herbal ornaments around them are depicted inside the ceramic vessels and in the middle of the composition. Bird depictions are the most common ornaments on the ceramics. In addition to bird figures, there are also depictions of deer, horses, lions and tigers in the decorations. Apart from the depiction of a warrior fighting with a dragon, it is seen that there are almost no depictions of an event in the compositions. The ornaments and figures on the multicolored glazed ceramic pottery with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic motifs reflect the spirit, social-cultural, religious-moral, philosophical aspects and aesthetic understanding of the Seljuk period.

The classical guitar is a very popular instrument that attracts the attention of all age groups. In Turkey, the guitar has been performed mostly in popular culture music and has become a well-known instrument through concerts and television broadcasts. The emergence of the classical guitar as an academic instrument in Turkey became possible towards the end of the 1970s. The number of Turkish classical guitar performers, classical guitar students, educators and listeners who have been educated in Turkey and abroad and trained as a performer is increasing. On the other hand, few of these performers have recorded their academic works and arrangements as an album. The problem statement of this study is to reveal the subjects such as who made the album works of Turkish guitarists, what works they consisted of, how many, in which audio storage media they were published and what their contents were. With this study, it is aimed to examine the performance albums of Turkish classical guitar artists. It is thought that examining the performance album works of Turkish classical guitar artists will guide the new generation guitarists in this field and contribute to the studies in the field of classical guitar, especially by revealing the current situation in the field of classical guitar performance in Turkey. Document scanning model, one of the general research models, was used to collect the data obtained in the research. In the research, theses and articles were scanned using different keywords and words, information was obtained through personal interviews, and records, documents, electronic findings and digital data flows were examined through document scanning. In the research, 61 solo albums, 27 chamber music albums and 14 mixed albums including the albums of Turkish classical guitar artists were reached. The total number of recorded albums was determined as 102 and there were a total of 68 guitarist performers playing in these albums. When the works in the album are examined, it is seen that Turkish classical guitar artists focus on adaptations consisting of Turkish folk melodies in addition to the works that have taken place in the classical guitar repertoire.

The Relationship between Hospital Brand Image and Perceived Service Quality: A Meta-Analytic Research

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the "Hospital Brand Image" and "Perceived Service Quality" variables using the meta-analysis method. As far as national and international literature has been scanned, no study has been found in which these two variables have been investigated with such an approach. Therefore, this situation constituted the main motivation source of the study. As a result of the screening process, which was carried out to cover the years 2011-2021, 16 studies that met the inclusion criteria were examined with the meta-analysis method. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis package program was used in the analysis of the data. The total number of samples within the scope of the studies is 6236. It was determined that 62.5% of the publications included in the meta-analysis were in English, approximately 94% were in the type of articles, and only 6% were in the type of master's thesis. It has been calculated that 25% (f: 4) of the publications belong to 2020, about 19% (f: 3) belong to the years 2021 and 2015, and the average number of samples of all publications is 391. According to the random effect model, a statistically significant, positive and strong relationship (r: 0.635) was found between hospital brand image and perceived service quality variables. In other words, as patients' hospital brand image levels increase, their perceived service quality levels also increase. In this context, it can be suggested that hospital managers who want to position their hospitals' brand image levels at a high point in the eyes of health service buyers should attach more importance to the quality level perceived by the patients and periodically measure the quality perceptions of the patients.

Analysis of Elements and Symbols in Turkish Mythology in Murat Aydın’s Work

Art, constituting the common point of all societies today, is one of the important elements that guide from the past to future. In almost all cultures, drawings and paintings that have reached from cave walls to the present day, have also embodied many artistic features. While societies in the past reflected their daily lives and beliefs on the walls, perhaps they wanted to establish a communication with us people with these pictures they made to get a clue from themselves. Among them, one of the clues that carry the traces of the past and affect people are the “myths” that arise by being triggered via beliefs. Mankind has needed to believe in a Divine power superior to itself in every age. In this sense Mythology, which had acquired the meaning of a community or a nation in their own world between birth and death is a collection of all the lives that tell stories. Although mythologies have a common origin in general, they have their own interpretations and differentiated meanings in each society. In this context, Turkish Mythology has also formed its own belief system with myths. Today, as part of this society, we are influenced consciously or unconsciously by both variables by being influenced by our past resources and the values offered to us by our culture, establishing a connection between the past and the future. This requirement also lies within the main purpose of this article. Based on the artworks of Murat Aydın, one of our Turkish painters, analyses have been made in the context of Turkish mythology. It has been tried to examine from which frame the artist interprets his art while looking at the present in the context of the past and the future.

Sports Understanding and Current Reflections of Homer's Epics

The aim of this study is to examine the sports depicted in the Homeric epics and to investigate their current reflections. A literature review was conducted in the study. The depictions of Homer in the Iliad and Odyssey epics are considered as the basis of Greek and even western sports history. Homer was the first to use the word athlete. In the Iliad, the sportive activities the sportive activities mentioned are chariot races, running, boxing, wrestling, armed struggles, discus, javelin throwing and archery. In Odyssey, it is stated that dance, gymnastics and acrobatic performances, ball games and horse riding were made. Although Homer's narratives are understood as epic expressions today, they are organized forms of some sports. Homer's sporting narratives inspired the birth of the sportive sport model of Ancient Greece and Western civilization. In Homer's works, there is an understanding of sports that has influenced both the public sphere and every aspect of daily life. Looking at the earliest literary accounts of Olympic-style athletic competitions, it is stated that there are heroic relationships between athletics and divinity, nobility, virtue, and leadership. The Iliad first appears in the political tactic of using games to settle disputes over honor and worth, as well as the test and struggle of virtue. The fact that the Patroclos games are the three major athletics events closest to Homer's ancient Olympic games signifies both physical excellence and moral excellence. It aims to educate people physically and spiritually. The main events in Homer's descriptions, chariot racing, boxing, and wrestling, appear to be monopolized by the nobility. In Homer's depictions, sports are informal and spontaneous. There is no organized training and no organized competitions. We see for the first time in these epics the true spirit of sports, the desire to always be the best and leave all other people behind, the joy of competitions. Of the eight events at the funeral games, only five survived the program of the ancient Olympics. These were chariot races, boxing, wrestling, running and javelin throwing. The other three, sword fighting, weight throwing and archery, are part of modern games.

Objects Weıghed on the Delicate Scales of Poetry and Imaginary Transformation: A Journey from fact to Perception in Sabahattin Ali's “Morning on the Bridge” and Ahmet Muhip Dıranas's “Death of the Morning” Poems

Objects in the outside world, weighed on the delicate scales of poetry, turn into poetic signs through a journey from fact to fiction. The aesthetic form, in which the basic components of poetry come together and intersect, is also a sensitive scale that determines the distance between fact and perception in poetry. As a follower and interpreter of a situation, the poet transforms and exalts the feeling or idea that he holds in his hand, so that the current expression can reach an artistic value. For this purpose, abstract perceptions transcend the concrete existence acted upon in the poem. After that, perceptual reality becomes the actual reality of the poem. The existence of the objects in the world they live in meet the feelings of the poet and in the place he has acquired for himself in his inner world is reflected and pervaded in the verses. This is a consequence of the distance taken from fact to fiction. In this study, Sabahattin Ali's poems "Morning on the Bridge" and Ahmet Muhip Dıranas's "Morning Death", which are the presentation of an imaginary journey from fact to fiction, are tried to be evaluated in the context of perceptual reality. It is morning time when poets choose and give meaning, and at this time, the objects to which attention is directed are transformed in the fictional mechanism of the poem and move on to a new reality.

Although the rate varies according to countries, the world population is aging rapidly, which creates many social and economic problems. In Turkey, the proportion of the elderly population in the current population has increased rapidly and its ratio in the total population increased to 9.9% in 2022. With this ratio, Turkey’s population is included among the older countries (TÜİK, 2023). In this situation, where and how the elderly population and active old age will be maintained is of great importance. The study was prepared by carrying out field studies and using purposive sampling method in 2019-2022. In-depth interviews were conducted with 14 participants who returned to the countryside after retirement in Artvin province (Ardanuç, Şavşat) using a semi-structured interview form consisting of 12 questions. In addition to issues such as how the active elderly population can be included in the economy, it has been determined what the needs and expectations of retirees returning to the countryside are for participating in production, improving service and living conditions in the countryside. As a result of analysing the interviews, the preferences for returning to the countryside were influenced by the desire to live in a different place after retirement, the desire to return to the countryside due to longing for the countryside, to acquire new occupations related to agricultural production, to reuse inherited idle lands and houses and to pass them on to future generations, and to practice production and hobbies in the countryside that were postponed due to living and working conditions in the city. It has been observed that Artvin province, especially Şavşat and Ardanuç districts, offers important opportunities for the elderly population who want to spend the rest of their lives in the countryside, to produce, and to realise their other wishes in a natural environment.

The subject of this study is John Dewey, one of the important educational thinkers who has had a great impact on our day. In this study, John Dewey's thoughts were reflected over the concepts he valued, and his ideas about education were given by associating them with his thoughts. In particular, its effects on the primary school programs prepared in Turkey in the years 1924-1926 were examined. Today, there is a need for a quality education structure that can be applied in rapidly changing conditions. John Dewey is one of the most valuable researchers who have conducted research in this context recently (Öztürk, 2008). John Dewey's thoughts on education have significantly influenced today's educational thoughts. Dewey has built the basis of his education philosophy on a consistent, systematic, and real life that can meet the needs of the individual. It has changed the traditional understanding of education, which is teacher-oriented, and has allowed the reconstruction of an active education that puts the student at the center. Therefore, the research is "What is John Dewey's philosophy of education?" He sought an answer to his problem. Dewey opposed the rote learning and teacher-focused structure of traditional education, which faced major criticism of the progressive education approach/philosophy, and stated that restructuring in education is essential based on this. In addition, Dewey did not only criticize traditional education; He also expressed the deficiencies of the progressive education perspective and tried to eliminate them. For example, by including the concept of experience, it has made a great contribution to educational sciences (Yıldız, 2014). With this research, it is aimed to examine John Dewey's views on education and to investigate the reasons and contributions of the philosophy of education he created with these views and shedding light on today's education systems with this philosophy.

The statistical numbers determined due to the stigma anxiety of the victims and their relatives reflect a small part of the problem. Many professionals such as doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers are involved in the detection, rehabilitation and prevention of this problem. In this study, doctors' views on child neglect and abuse, how they detected and reported the case, how they were affected and the difficulties they experienced were qualitatively investigated. It was determined that the physicians thought that the education they received about neglect and abuse was sufficient, they found the cases of abuse wearing out, they experienced anger and sadness, the inadequacy of the examination times made it difficult to detect the neglect and abuse, and they were concerned about how the child would be affected at the reporting stage.

An Overview of the Relationship between Contralto Profondo Female Tenor Voice Character and Tenor Voice in Professional Voice Usage

This research has been prepared in order to make a general evaluation of the Contralto Profondo voice character, which is distinguished from other voice types with its characteristic voice feature and is also encountered as "Female Tenor" and to reveal its similarity with the male voice color Tenor voice type. There are Soprano – Mezzo-soprano – Alto as female voices and Tenor – Baritone – Bass voice types as female voices within the Basic Voice Classes in which female voices and male voices are defined as the main groups in the definition of human voice colours. In addition to this sound classification, which is widely known by dividing into certain sub-genres (colors) within itself, there are also "Characteristic Sound Types", which are rare when it comes to defining the sound in voice training processes and applying appropriate training strategies, this sound that a voice educator can always encounter. Seems to be very important in terms of characters. One of the rare voice types that should be evaluated among the characteristic voice types is Contralto Profondo. The fact that it is not widely known and this voice structure is very rare, the Contralto Profondo voice character cannot be defined correctly, and the correct voice training methods cannot be applied in this direction. In this context, it is known that many singers who have this voice feature experience loss of voice due to misdirections during the education process and evenstuations where their performences come to an end.
T.S. Eliot’s “The Waste Land,” considered the most significant poem of the twentieth century, defines the literary period known as modernism and includes the reflections and fragments from modern period. Eliot reflects some of the significant concerns of the post-war period that witnessed the astonishing political, cultural, sociological and psychological and moral changes to the face of the modern world. He reckons with incalculable consequences of the First World War to the modern world, he is aware of Western civilization’s being under threat of destruction and the mortality of civilizations, that’s why, he is concerned with new ways of ordering. At the end of the poem, he installs power of renewal, cycles of creative destruction, he looks to the future of the western civilization with hope. This article explores Eliot’s engagement with the ruined, fragmented, disordered and aging western civilization and any future cultural, social and moral reconstruction by using the concept of entropy. The character, the Sibyl of Cumae in the epigraph of the poem reflects the concept of entropy, energy‘s turning into disorder and inertia, metaphorically. Sybil who is the embodiment of the western civilization represents the entropic movement of the western to disorder, loss of differentiating energy and degradation. Her withering and aging process represents the physical, spiritual and cultural aging of the western world without beauty, youth and energy. Her unbearable suspension in time represents the longevity of the western civilization that will end for a new beginning.
