Abstract
İlkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin arkadaş kavramına ilişkin geliştirdikleri metaforları ve arkadaşlık algılarını belirlemeyi amaçlayan bu çalışmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgu-bilim deseninden faydalanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin geliştirdiği metaforların belirlenmesi için yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin arkadaşlarını neye benzettiklerini ve bunun nedenini belirttikleri göz önünde bulundurularak arkadaş kavramına ilişkin algıları tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin arkadaş edinirken tercih ettiği kriterler sorulup cevaplar alınmıştır. Çalışmaya toplam 294 öğrenci katılmıştır. 4. sınıf öğrencileri arkadaş kavramına ilişkin toplam 103 metafor belirtmiştir. İçerik analizi ile 103 metafor, 13 kategori altında toplanmıştır. Oluşturulan kategorilerde en yüksek oran kurulan ilişki derecesiyle arkadaş kategorisidir. Öğrencilerin arkadaşlarını en çok benzettikleri metafor kardeş metaforudur. İkinci sırada dost metaforu vardır. Üçüncü metafor ise çiçek olmuştur. Çalışmada öğrencilere arkadaş edinirken tercih ettiği kriteler sorusunda 54 farklı kriter belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin arkadaş edinirken en çok tercih ettiği kriterler arkadaşlarının saygılı, iyi ve dürüst olmasıdır.

Abstract
In this study, which aims to determine the metaphors and perceptions of friendship developed by 4th grade primary school students regarding the concept of friend, the phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. A structured interview form was used to determine the metaphors developed by the students. Students’ perceptions of the concept of friend were determined by considering what they compared their friends to and why. In addition, the criteria that students prefer when making friends were asked and the answers were received. A total of 294 students participated in the study. 4th grade students stated a total of 103 metaphors regarding the concept of friend. With content analysis, 103 metaphors were grouped under 13 categories. Among the categories created, the highest rate is the friend category with the degree of relationship established. The metaphor that students most liken their friends to is the sibling metaphor. In second place is the metaphor of friend. The third metaphor was the flower. In the study, 54 different criteria were determined when asking students about the criteria they prefer when making friends. The most preferred criteria by students when making friends is that their friends are respectful, good and honest.
