Abstract
Dengbêjlik Türkiye’de daha çok Doğu Anadolu ve Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesinde sözlü anlatım şeklinde gerçekleşen kadim bir gelenektir. Bu geleneği yaşatan ve sürdüren en önemli temsilcileri dengbêjlerdir. Dengbêjler tarihi olaylardan, savaş, göç, kahramanlık, aşk ve ölüm gibi toplumu ilgilendiren her meseleyi sese yükledikleri duygusal yoğunlukla sunmuşlardır. Yaşadığı toplumun kültürel özelliklerini ve değerlerini iyi bilen ve güçlü bir hafızaya sahip olan dengbêjler sese ve söze biçim vererek icra ettikleri sanatlarıyla kültürel hafızanın aktarıcıları olmuşlar. Destan, mitler, halk hikâyesi, masal, efsane, ağıt gibi sözlü kültür ürünü halk anlatıları toplumların değerlerini, inançlarını ve tarihini yansıtırlar. Uzun kış gecelerinde kimi zaman uzun uzadıya bir destan anlatmışlar, yeri gelmiş birbirine kavuşamayan iki aşığın hayatın hikâyesini anlatmışlar, yeri gelmiş aşiretler arası bir mücadelenin acımasız yönünü gözler önüne sermişler. Toplumsal gerçekliğin anlatıya dönüşebilecek her anını bu anlatılar aracılığıyla dile getirip toplumun sesi olmuşlar ve toplumsal hafızayı canlı tutmuşlar. Dengbêjlik geleneği ve halk anlatıları birbirini tamamlayan iki unsur olup toplumun değerlerini, kültürünü, tarihini yansıtan bir anlatı dünyasıdır. Bu iki unsur da geçmişi geleceğe taşıyan, kültürel kimliği koruyan, toplumsal hafızayı şekillendiren araçlar olmuşlar. Bu kadim gelenek sayesinde toplumun dinamiğini oluşturan kültürel öğeler, kolektif belek ses ve söz ustaları vasıtasıyla kuşaktan kuşağa aktarılır. Bu çalışmada amaç dengbêjlik geleneğinin toplum içerisindeki yerini tespit ederek bu geleneğin merkezinde yer alan halk anlatılarını ve bunların işleyişini ortaya koymaktır.

Abstract
Dengbej is an ancient tradition that takes place in the form of oral narration,mostly in the Eastern and Southern Anatolia regions of Turkey.The most important representatives who keep this tradition alive and continue it are the Dengbej.Dengbej have presented historical events,war,migration,heroism,love and death,and all issues that concern society,with the emotional intensity that they have loaded into their voices.Dengbej,who have a goog knowledge of cultural characteristics and values of the society they live in and have a strong memory,have become the transmitters of cultural memory through the art which they perform by shaping sound and words.Folk narratives,which are products of oral culture such as epics,myths,fairy tales,folk tales,legends and laments,reflect the values,beliefs and history of societies.During the long winter nights,they sometimes told an epic at length,sometimes they told the life story of two lovers who could not be reunited,sometimes they revealed the crual side of a struggle between tribes.They have voiced every moment of social reality that could be turned into a narrative via these narratives,thus becoming the voice of society and keeping social memory alive. Dengbêj tradition and folk narratives are two elements that complement each other and are a narrative world that reflects the values, culture and history of the society. These two elements have become tools that carry the past to the future, preserve cultural identity, and shape social memory. Thanks to this ancient tradition, the cultural elements that form the dynamics of the society are transferred from generation to generation through the collective voice and word masters. The aim of this study is to determine the place of the dengbej tradition within society and to reveal the folk narratives at the center of this tradition and their functioning.
