Abstract
Fotoğraf hem üretildiği zamanın hem de içinde bulunduğu toplumun da birer göstergesi olarak kabul edilmektedir. Dolayısıyla fotoğrafın teknik analizi sanatsal yapılabildiği gibi, okuma ile içinde barındırdığı göstergelerin bilimsel analizi yapılabilmektedir. Araştırmada COVID-19 döneminde 2020 yılı Ocak-Aralık ayları arasında çekilen fotoğraflar içinden Pulitzer Fotoğraf Ödülü alan 15 fotoğraf incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın genelinde, ödüllü fotoğrafçının toplum üzerinde yarattığı etki göz önünde bulundurularak, Pulitzer Fotoğraf Ödülü alan fotoğrafların seçilme ve sunulma esnasında farklılık sağlayan niteliklerin daha iyi anlaşılması için göstergebilimsel analiz yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. 15 farklı fotoğrafın yer aldığı uzun metrajlı seride yaşlıların içinde bulundukları döneme ilişkin yaşadıkları süreci ise “yalnızlık” teması ile sunmuştur. İncelenen Pulitzer Ödüllü fotoğrafların ana ve yan öge etkileşimleri pandeminin toplumda özellikle yaşlı popülasyon üzerinde yaratmış olduğu ölüm korkusu ve kaygısı, beraberinde getirdiği yalnızlık kavramı etrafında konumlandırılmıştır.

Abstract
Photography is accepted as an indicator of both the time in which it was produced and the society in which it exists. Therefore, just as technical analysis of photography can be done artistically, scientific analysis of the indicators it contains can be done through reading. In the research, 15 photographs that received the Pulitzer Prize for Photography were examined among the photographs taken between January and December 2020 during the COVID-19 period. Throughout this study, considering the impact of the award-winning photograph on society, the semiotic analysis method was preferred to better understand the qualities that make the Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs different during the selection and presentation. In the feature-length series, which includes 15 different photographs, the process experienced by the elderly regarding their current period is presented with the theme of “loneliness”. The main and side element interactions of the award-winning photographs are positioned around the fear and anxiety of death that the pandemic has created in society, especially on the elderly population, and the concept of loneliness it brings with it.
