Abstract
Yükseköğretim kurumları, günümüz bilgi çağında bilginin üretilmesi ve dağıtılmasında merkezi bir rol oynamaktadır. Küreselleşme, modernleşme ve sekülerleşme süreçleri toplumsal kurumlarda önemli değişim ve dönüşümler meydana getirmektedir. Söz konusu dönüşümlerden en çok etkilenen kurum eğitim kurumudur. Bu durum yükseköğretim kurumlarında kalite güvencesi ve akreditasyon uygulamalarının önemini artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Web of Science (WoS)’ta taranan yayınlar temelinde yükseköğretimde akreditasyon konulu çalışmaların bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında WoS veri tabanında, 2025 yılı sonuna kadar yayımlanmış olan çalışmalar taranmıştır. Başlık (title) alanında (TI=("accredit*" )) AND TI=("higher education" ) kelime grubunu içeren “article” türündeki 171 çalışma analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı özellikler için Microsoft Excel ve veri görselleştirmede VOSviewer yazılımı kullanılmıştır. Yapılan inceleme sonucunda ilk çalışmanın 1982 yılında yayınlandığı görülmüştür. Dolayısıyla çalışma, 1982-2025 yılları arasındaki süreci kapsamaktadır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre son yıllarda yükseköğretimde akreditasyon konulu çalışmaların sayısında ve atıf sayılarında belirgin bir artış olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışmaların büyük çoğunluğunun eğitim bilimleri alanında yoğunlaştığı, en üretken derginin “Quality in Higher Education” dergisi olduğu ve küresel ölçekte ABD’nin lider konumda olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Türkiye adresli çalışmaların oldukça sınırlı olduğu ve uluslararası iş birliği ağında bağlantı gücüne sahip olmadığı görülmüştür. Araştırmacıların “akreditasyon”, "yükseköğretim", "kalite güvencesi" ve "değerlendirme" kavramlarına odaklandığı belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, yükseköğretimde akreditasyon konusunda yapılan çalışmaların kapsamını ve eğilimlerini anlamaya katkı sağlamakta ve gelecekteki çalışmalar için yol gösterici olmayı hedeflemektedir.

Abstract
Higher education institutions play a central role in the production and dissemination of knowledge in today's information age. The processes of globalization, modernization, and secularization are bringing about significant changes and transformations in social institutions. The institution most affected by these transformations is the educational institution. This situation increases the importance of quality assurance and accreditation practices in higher education institutions. This study aims to examine studies on accreditation in higher education using bibliometric analysis methods based on publications scanned in the Web of Science (WoS). Within the scope of the study, studies published in the WoS database until the end of 2025 were searched. A total of 171 studies of the “article” type containing the phrase (TI=(“accredit*” )) AND TI=(“higher education” ) in the title field were analyzed. Microsoft Excel was used for the analysis of descriptive characteristics, and VOSviewer software was used for data visualization. The analysis revealed that the first study was published in 1982. Therefore, the study covers the period between 1982 and 2025. According to the analysis results, a significant increase in the number of studies and citations on accreditation in higher education has been observed in recent years. It was determined that the majority of the studies were concentrated in the field of educational sciences, the most productive journal was “Quality in Higher Education,” and the US was in a leading position globally. It was observed that studies originating from Turkey are quite limited and lack connectivity within the international collaboration network. Researchers were found to focus on the concepts of “accreditation,” “higher education,” “quality assurance,” and “evaluation.” The results obtained contribute to understanding the scope and trends of studies on accreditation in higher education and aim to serve as a guide for future studies.
