Abstract

The first step for children who are just starting their education life is pre-school education. Music activities, which are among the art and skill activities held in pre-school, are undoubtedly among the activities that are frequently used. One of the reasons why music is used in the preschool period is the positive effect of music on people. The positive effects of music on the child are visible. It makes a great contribution to the child in important areas such as self-care skills, cognitive development, social development, language development, emotional development, physical development and personality development. Family and educators have great responsibilities in placing these improvements in the child in a healthy way. The aim of our study was to ask questions to preschool teachers working in 10 schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education to form a study group in order to determine the opinions of preschool teachers on music activity, and interview technique was used. As a data collection tool, related main themes were determined and these themes were asked to the teachers in question sentence format, and the teachers were asked to answer them in line with their knowledge. In order to make the data analysis healthier, the interview forms were analyzed separately by the researcher.
